When Time Is Not Enough

It's been a while since my last post. I have 3 babies, a few jobs and it's been challenging and very rewarding at the same time.
But what I have missed also is sharing my opinions on various topics, some just random but issues that both excite and some rather unsettling.

In the next few day I will be blogging on issues that have affected me both positively and negatively.

Since my last blog, we have Donald Trump for USA, Emerson Munangagwa for Zimbabwe, Teresa May with Brexit, Telsa in space, Federa is still King on the court.

Most of us live in metropolitan cities nowadays and I for one at times take things for granted. At times I have to take a second and think how did I get from home to work or going about my daily business, how does the gas, Electricity, water, get to my house, and just wonder how things work. most of the time it does not matter to me as long as I have all these services working but on the other hand I am not that ignorant, I am a bit inquisitive. I must say one of the greatest achievements man has improved is Tunnelling.

 Can you imagine living in a city without the underground transport or your water, gas, sewage pipes, electric, telephone, mobile cables running parallel to our streets at street level, I am scared to even imagine it. You must hand to the igneous thinking of man. Now we not only link cities we link countries and soon continents.

The Iron Lady Dies

She was the Iron Lady. Why? It’s not surprising given that she was forced to work with the male chauvinistic mentality of the 70’s and 80’s in both her own government and around the world. She had to belt up in order to run things and make changes, whether they were large or small. Most people have no idea how tough it is to work with an all male dominated workplace, let alone set off the political change that she managed to. I must say I admired her tenacity and her resolve and she will be sorely missed by most.

Life Through My Eyes

Hi guys. I know it's been a while but I'm back now so expect more posts in the next few weeks. Firstly, hope everyone has started 2013 well, I'm trying to be more consistent with my blogging among other things on my New Year Resolutions list :)

Anyway back to the business end of things. I am a member of EyeEm, a free photo sharing and discovery community. Besides just sharing photos online, we do EyeEm meetups when we get together, take long photowalks and hang out through our various cities. It's also a great time to meet your online friends in person. I went to my first EyeEm meetup in London last year and it was great, I can't wait for the next one.

My Take on the TV Series 'Arrow'

Not quite sure what to make of this series. Love the concept, a modern day Robin Hood, but I'm still trying to get my head round why the bow & arrow was the weapon of choice. Guess it was only to be expected with a title like 'Arrow'. Where its all a little lost on me is when they start using complicated computer technology to spy on their target but then they're still going around with bows and arrows. Hmm. A little weird if you ask me, don’t know if we need another action hero; Batman, Spiderman, Superman, the Fantastic Four, Green Hornet and now Green Arrow...Don't get me wrong, I like the show and I'm on the 7th Episode so far.

Can't wait to see how they're gonna link all the plots together. Wonder if this will go up there with the other tv series' I love: Burn Notice, Alias, Breaking Bad, Covert Affairs, Person of interest, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, Law & Order.

Going Organic

My Herbs.

Ever walked down the fruit aisle in your local supermarket and noticed how much nicer the organic fruit looks? I swear they do it on purpose. I find myself eyeing up a pack of apples -all red, and shiny and perfectly round- before I realise I'm looking at the organic pack which costs about £2.50 for a measly 4 apples. Then I look over at the 'value' pack sitting right next to it -no less tasty I'm sure- but nowhere near as pretty as their organic counterparts.Yeah, £2.50 isn't gonna break the bank but who can afford to choose organic over non-organic through all the aisles in Tesco?

Oh, and what are the health/nutrition benefits anyway? 
I know, I know, no pesticides. And after a bit of reading, I learned that organic produce has up to 30% more antioxidants, which promote immune and heart health. I could do with some of that, which is why I've decided to take matters into my own hands.


This year I'm going all self-sufficient. I haven't got much room in the garden but I'll cram as many crops as I can into little space I've got. I'm almost a month into my project so I just thought I'd show all you garden lovers how I'm getting on.

The Diamond Lady

The 2nd of June 2012 marked Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee, 60 years of the Queen's reign over the United Kingdom.

I know you know who I'm talking about. In this day and age, I'm pretty sure there isn't a person on this earth that wouldn't recognise that profile. Yes, this one.

I won't lie to you. I was no royal enthusiast. After all, in a world of democratically elected prime ministers and presidents, who needs kings and queens, right? I would have gladly praised Thatcher over the Queen. Sure, her politics are debatable but no one could argue that she ruled with an iron fist!

But like a lot of people, there was one royal who I couldn't help but fall in love with. Yes I'm a guy, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I fell for her just as hard as the rest of the world. How could you not? And like everyone else, I suppose it was through her story that I grew to sympathise with the royals. Where I'd imagined an easy life of thrones and crowns and wealth, I realised the price at which it all came: a life in the public eye.

It's clear that Kate's gonna follow in their footsteps: beauty, class, intelligence, philanthropy - let's just hope she has a better time of it!

Getting back to the point I was making before that massive tangent - the Diamond Jubilee! In times of hardship like these (is there anyone's arse the recession isn't kicking?!), it's nice that on that day, 2nd June, everyone had a reason to celebrate - whether it was the Queen's 60 year reign, a much deserved day off work or an excuse to crack open a pint!

For those of you who've been under a rock for the last week - you can catch up with the Jubilee on BBC iPlayer but hurry 'cause they usually only keep programs on for 30 days. If you're in the UK, you can pick up the Daily Mail on the weekend; they're giving away six DVDs on the Queen and the Jubilee free with every paper.
